Frequently asked questions about Entheo Clinic
Fees & payment
Do you take insurance?
Not currently. Entheo Clinic is a private-pay practice. But you're not on your own: we provide superbills with the CPT and ICD-10 codes insurers require, and many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful share of out-of-network care. Here's how to check your benefits in one phone call.
How much do visits cost?
A comprehensive 75-minute new-patient evaluation is $475. A standard 25-minute medication follow-up is $245. An integrated 50-minute psychotherapy visit is $345. That's the whole price list. Payment is due at the time of service.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. Prospective patients can request a free 15-minute intro consultation: a short video or phone call to ask questions and see whether the practice fits, before committing to a full evaluation. It's a get-acquainted conversation rather than a medical visit, so there's no diagnosis, no prescriptions, and no charge. Request one on the booking page.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Psychiatric care is a qualified medical expense, so HSA and FSA cards work directly.
Do you accept Medicare or Medi-Cal?
Unfortunately not. Federal rules prevent us from seeing Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medi-Cal, or Medicaid beneficiaries right now, even on a cash-pay basis. Please mention any government coverage before scheduling.
What's a Good Faith Estimate?
A written estimate of expected costs that self-pay patients are entitled to under the federal No Surprises Act, before scheduling or receiving care. Since our fees are flat and published, yours will hold few surprises, but you can request one anytime.
Can I pay online?
Yes. Billing runs through the secure Client Portal, where you can pay balances with an HSA/FSA or any major card. The full financial policy arrives with your intake paperwork.
Care & treatment
What makes Entheo Clinic different?
Time and range. Visits are long enough to actually think. And every plan works three angles at once: your biology (sleep, metabolism, inflammation), your medications (fewer and better-chosen, with exit plans), and your inner life (real therapy, in every visit).
Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications like semaglutide?
Yes, as part of metabolic psychiatry care. When clinically appropriate, Dr. Kabir prescribes GLP-1 medications for weight, alongside comprehensive metabolic labs, dietary protocols including ketogenic approaches, and evidence-informed nutraceutical guidance. Weight and mood affect each other, so they're treated together.
Is Dr. Kabir a therapist as well as a psychiatrist?
Yes, and this is central to the practice. Dr. Kabir is a physician trained in depth psychotherapy: Internal Family Systems, Jungian, psychodynamic, and CBT. Therapy isn't referred out; it's part of the visit.
Can you help me get off my medications?
Often, yes. Safely and gradually. Supervised deprescribing is one of our core services: personalized tapering plans, close monitoring, and no abrupt stops. And when staying on a medication is genuinely the wiser path, we'll tell you that too.
Do you prescribe psychedelics?
No. We don't administer, prescribe, or provide unapproved psychedelic substances. What we do offer is preparation and integration support: skilled psychiatric guidance before and after legal experiences, delivered as supportive psychotherapy.
Can you prescribe stimulants or benzodiazepines by telehealth?
Sometimes, but never as a given. Telehealth prescribing of controlled substances is strictly regulated by state and federal law. Any prescription follows a comprehensive evaluation and clear clinical indication, which protects you as much as it protects the practice.
Is this therapy, or medication management?
Both, on purpose. Every visit is therapy-informed, and the 50-minute integrated follow-up combines formal psychotherapy with medication care in a single session. No bouncing between providers who don't talk to each other.
Do you treat emergencies or crises?
No. We're a scheduled outpatient practice without emergency coverage. If you're in crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency department. Please don't wait for an appointment.
Logistics
Where do you see patients?
Primarily by secure video, anywhere in California. In-person visits can be arranged when clinically helpful. You need to be physically in California during your telehealth appointments.
How do I get started?
Request a time on the booking page or email hello@entheoclinic.com. After a quick fit check, you'll get a secure portal invitation for intake, and then it's 75 minutes with Dr. Kabir.
What platform do you use for visits?
A secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant client portal and telehealth platform. A private link arrives before each appointment. Nothing to install or configure.
What's your cancellation policy?
Life happens. Just give us advance notice as described in the financial policy you'll receive at intake. Late cancellations and no-shows may incur a fee, which insurance doesn't reimburse.
Is my appointment request confirmed automatically?
Not quite. When you request a time on the booking page, we review it first to make sure outpatient telehealth care genuinely fits your situation, then confirm, suggest another time, or point you toward better-suited care. You'll hear back quickly, usually within one business day.
What is the Client Portal?
Your private, HIPAA-compliant home base for everything between visits: appointments, secure messages, intake forms, telehealth links, billing, and documents like statements and superbills. There's a quick tour on the patient page, and a SimplePractice mobile app if you prefer your phone.
Our specialties, in plain language
What is metabolic psychiatry?
Care that treats mental health conditions by also addressing the metabolic processes that shape brain function: blood sugar and insulin resistance, inflammation, sleep, nutrition, and body weight. Here that means comprehensive metabolic labs, ketogenic and other dietary protocols, GLP-1 medications when appropriate, and careful prescribing, together in one plan. The full picture is on the metabolic psychiatry page.
What is psychedelic integration?
Structured psychotherapy that helps you make sense of, and act on, what surfaced during a psychedelic experience, with preparation support before one. It's provided here by a psychiatrist-psychotherapist; no psychedelic substances are administered or prescribed. More on the psychedelic integration page.
What is medication management?
Ongoing psychiatric care around prescriptions: choosing the right medication when one is needed, monitoring benefits, side effects, and metabolic impact, adjusting doses, and planning tapers when a medication has done its job. Visits here are long enough to do that thinking properly.
Do you see patients in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego?
Yes, and everywhere else in California: Sacramento, San Jose, Orange County, Fresno, the coast, the mountains. Telehealth means your zip code doesn't decide your care.
